In process puzzles, you are given the exact instructions on how to solve it. However, the process is not straightforward and is a challenge in and of itself. For example, a sudoku or crossword.

In aha! puzzles, the instructions are often very minimal and vague. The most difficult part is trying to figure out what to do to get to that “aha!” moment. Once you get the aha! the actual puzzle solving is relatively straightforward.

Most Puzzle Hunt puzzles are “aha!” puzzles, but there can also be process puzzles or puzzles that combine both types in multiple steps.
