Title and Flavor Text

Often, the title or description of a puzzle (called flavor text) will give you a hint about either its theme or a strategy needed to solve it.

Be on the lookout for bold or underlined words. Also, odd phrasing can be a hint! Think about multiple meanings of words and how you could possibly apply the words to the puzzle you are seeing.

If the phrasing seems odd, remember that the words of flavor text are picked very carefully. Check for acronyms in the text or Google any words you don’t recognize.
